Gender medicine has been underestimated, preclinical and clinical research has privileged, in fact, male subjects transferring the results on female subjects. Gender-appropriate methodo-logical approaches have not been adopted. In recent years, sensitivity to gender medicine has increased. Basic research can make a good contribution to increasing the knowledge of pre-ventive and curative medicine according to gender.
