In the first part of the paper the authors discuss the difficulties of psychotherapy in general and systemic psychotherapy in particular in dealing with the theme of resilience and so of the trauma, and overcoming it. The difficulties are related to the totem of depathologization and to the consequent taboo of diagnosis. In the second part a typical or ideal six-steps pathway for elaboration of trauma is outlined as a guidance for clinical assessment which allows a structured therapeutic process.
