Demographic strategies with spatial matrix demography and spatial planning in Israel-Palestinian conflict about Jerusalem - Abstract. This paper is an overview on Israeli’s "demografic strategies" upon Jerusalem, as embodied in urban and territorial policies (in particular concerning the illegal housing in the Holy City). In fact, it’s impossible to understand in deep these policies without a look on demografic trends characterizing Jerusalem, since, from the Israeli’s viewpoint, these trends constitute a crucial knot related to the control of the city, and, for this reason, it’s to them that government urban policies look for reaching it. So, the first part of the paper will analize Jerusalem’s demografic characteristics. The second part will argue about municipality urban policies related to (illegal) residential housebuildings.

Keywords: Jerusalem, Israel-Palestine, illegal building, planning.
