The article starts from the evolution of some theoretical paradigms related to Walter J. Ong’s ideas: such paradigms concern the variations of ways of thinking and of learning phases which characterize the transition to a culture of secondary orality. The author offers some synthetic examples of variation of attentional styles and mnemonic abilities in adolescents who make frequent and exclusive use of new technologies, particularly video games and Internet. The second part of the article proposes some examples of new teaching methods and innovative educational approaches which take account of changes in intelligences displayed by digital natives. In particular the experience of LARA project (Workshop on Relations and Aggregations with Adolescents) and of application of the Feuerstein method are presented.
