This article sets out to make a critical analysis of certain security policies recently adopted in Italy, together with the socio-legal repercussions of such legislative practices. In particular, the essay observes how the various legislative instruments in question relate to one another, their purposes (both manifest and latent), the relations between the many figures in whom the government of security is vested today and the attempts made to "share out" the legitimate monopoly of the use of force between the competent authorities. In particular, the authors examine the effects of the reform of Chapter V in the field of security, the so-called "Security Package", the "season" of Municipal Bylaws and their declared anticonstitutionality.
