A long-lasting school tradition stresses to much the role of teachers’ explanations and of students’ content memorising. In such a perspective teaching is contrasted to learning and disciplines are contrasted to the student’s mind. Thus, even though relevant theories and methodologies have been proposed since the Seventies, a divide still exists to be reduced in order to support school learning.
