Hypnotic regression refers to the use of hypnosis to facilitate reliving an earlier phase of life. There is now sufficient evidence of the clinical benefit of this phe-nomenon as it is possible to make a "bridge" with the past experience and evalu-ate it with the maturity of the current perspective and resources, to further elabo-rate and restructure the experience in a more adaptive way and obtain a therapeu-tic gain. The somatic bridge is an hypnotic regression technique that consists in identifying a somatic symptom or physical sensation in the patient, such as stom-ach pain or headache, or a feeling of sadness in the chest or a lump in the throat, and focus on that feeling for a moment, giving suggestions to allow that feeling or pain to increase and emerge completely, focusing on the memories that come to mind while focusing on that feeling. When a sensation or pain has a psychological origin, the intensity rises or falls rapidly or changes position. Usually, after the pa-tient remains focused on the symptom for a few moments emerges the emotional or psychological cause that produces it; very often these are situations of a long time before or childhood. This paper presents a form of modification and adapta-tion of this technique for use in the healing of the inner child through the therapeu-tic restructuration of past events. In addition, we describe and analyze two clinical cases in which the body bridge has been used as a rapid hypnotic technique of re-gression to childhood, showing its effectiveness in finding a damaged inner child, and starts the healing process using the strategies of Ego State Therapy, favoring the strengthening of emotional and psychological well-being, thus improving the quality of life of patients with traumatic events of the past.
