The Authors propose a psychodynamic version of what has been referred to as the Parental Alienation Syndrome, recognizing, in the child’s refusal toward one of the parents, unresolved emotional dynamics belonging to the parental couple, from the beginning of its formation. As a consequence the child becomes the "porta-parola" of a trans-generational and intergenerational conflict.

Keywords: PAS, marital conflict, children’s alienation
