The study titled "Economic and financial sustainability of health services, equity, and quality of care: objectives pursued through a strategic alliance between health, research and citizenship" launched the project "Equity in Health", based on the idea that also social variables may affect the access to health care. A pilot study was conducted on a sample of patients in general practice and, from its results, a greater study was designed to identify the epidemiology of fragility and vulnerability and to evaluate health service access indicators. This article is focused on pilot study’s results and on the design of the main study.
