Objectives. The present study aims to explore a different method of selection of Human Resources, based on the principle of consonance, which can reduce the conflict and have a positive impact on performance. Methodology. After a review of the existing literature on the already consolidated pillars of the strategic management of Human Resources (motivation and composition of working teams in particular) the study, through the interpretative lens of the VSA, addresses the categorical values, characterizing each system in a distinctive way and starting point for the generation of resonance. Results. The work comes to the exposition of a different perspective of investigation in the analysis of groups, based on the concept of consonance and aimed at realizing a Person - Organization fit able to return greater value than the absorbed one. Limits. The main limitation of the research lies in the lack of an empirical verification about the actual resonance generated. Practical implications. The study provides a different key to understand team building, based on value compatibility. The value link is deeperand stronger and it leads to a greater creation of value. Originality of the work. The work integrates the managerial approach with psychological investigation perspective, allowing to isolate the normally "submerged" dynamics of the selection process of Human Resources.
