On the occasion of the 40th anniversary of Berta Neumann’s (1894-1976) death, a clinical case she presented in 1962 is reprinted. The first eight months of psychoanalytic therapy of a 26 years old woman are described; the patient had psychotic symptoms, and the patient’s mother was participating to the sessions. This clinical case is preceded by a brief editorial note, and by an introduction by Pier Francesco Galli that was published in issue no. 1/1977 of the journal Psicoterapia e Scienze Umane as an introductory note to the last paper published by Berta Neumann. The clinical presentation is introduced by Virginio Porta and followed by a discussion with interventions by Virginio Porta, Franco Giberti, and Berta Neumann. At the end there is a list of the contributions that Berta Neumann published in Psicoterapia e Scienze Umane.
