The article deals with clinical networks, with a focus on mandated networks. The aim of the study is to evaluate how networks can be influenced by the healthcare system dynamics and how networks themselves contribute to the system governance. The study investigates the cancer network in the region of Veneto using a case study approach, through the review of documentation and semi-structured interviews to stakeholders. Our results show that within the Veneto system a balance was found in terms of power dynamics between the various levels involved and that different governance modes in the network guarantee its internal equilibrium and functioning.

Keywords: Governance, mandated networks, cancer networks, governance modes, power dynamics, healthcare system.
