Empirical analysis emphasizes how a local/suburban setting, individualism, absence of political involvement and lack of information are factors which increase the degree of prejudice in cognitive and ideological components. Two lifestyle profiles appear (marginal metropolitan, and élite metropolitan), dissimilar social figures, the first being more prone to prejudice, while the second are more open to approaching and relating to immigrants
