Learning and its triangulations. A model and a philosophical point of view. As shown in Escher’s "Drawing hands", in which Varela found an example of the circularity that allows us to evolve, learners "redesign" their point of view and their relationship. With the aid of examples from history of philosophy, the article suggests the notion of "triangulation" to describe the learning process carried out when an individual (group, organization) deals with "undecidable figure" or "rebus" which generate anxiety and conflict, challenge the sense making.
