In his last book, Jacques Le Goff depicts and tells some Middle Ages scenarios which allow to build a story of money. Though letting the reader to find analogies with the present age, the book asserts a substantial difference between the modern and the medieval society. Such a difference can be mainly noticed by looking at the different ways to think about and to manage economy. This historical study also provides interesting cues for epistemological, pedagogical and linguistic considerations.
