Underlining the value of studies and researches of D.N. Stern, G. Fava Vizziello and M. Spagnuolo Lobb express thanks for the gift from the psychoanalyst of a developmental theory based on the child who is observed in deep relation with the other. They emphasize the courage of Daniel Stern to deviate from more traditional developmental theories that are focused on solipsism of inner world of "pathological" child, and they remember the trust that Stern had for the possibilities of growth when it happens within a stressful field. The "being-with" and the value of dialogue and relationship featured in scientific thought and the humanity of the famous psychoanalyst, remain a candle light in the dark of a liquid society.
