Italian sociology of organization was characterized, in the author’s opinion, by a promising start and a weak evolution; interest for organizational aspects is however very present in much Italian socioeconomic research. Gallino’s contribution was especially evident in the combined use of different systemic approaches, and in a unconventional definition of organization. Both could still be useful, e.g. in the research on organizational networks.

Keywords: Organization, systems’ theories, organizational networks.
