An Addicted patients with High Social Health Complexity (ECoSS) represents the outcome of a therapeutic investment and basically no longer has the possibility of rehabilitation, committing resources of the care system for the duration of its life: an element to be considered in terms of planning. Given these considerations, several questions are posed. When is it possible to define an ECoSS patient? What is the prevalence of patients who can be defined ECoSS on the total of those in care? What specific characteristics do they have compared to non-ECoSS patients in treatment and to the general population? 1003 patients were examined in order to answer these questions.
