The reading of the evolution of the approaches towards the reuse of industrial architecture allows us to outline the framework of events in which significant interventions have been developed for the use of preexisting structures and nodal verifications for the conservation of the cultural values of the heritage, on which knowledge has matured in parallel for the update of the recovery design strategies, according to alternative sensitivities to those merely transformative. In order to achieve today a credible synthesis between form and content with respect to twentieth-century artefacts, it seems necessary to consider the recovery project as a process of stratification of material values and significances, so as to capture the transitory nature of the design action starting from the peculiarities of each individual case.
