The Psychology of Tourism started in 1984 and was promoted by the Interdisciplinary Scientific Committee “Psychology of Tourism” directed by Professor Marcello Cesa-Bianchi (he remained its Director up to March 2018, the date of his departure).This book is meant as a sign of gratitude towards our “Maestro”, and aims to highlight the main research topics in the realm of the Psychology of Tourism, with a close focus on the topics and typologies of tourism that are still relevant nowadays. Special attention is given to the experimental research on intergenerational tourism, which we started in the academic year 1999-2000 in North and Central Italy. Professor Marcello Cesa-Bianchi has provided a significant support with his studies on the Psychology of Aging.We wish to stress the importance of a post graduate education in management for the development of a quality tourism.
