The welcome address presents the conference as rooted in scholarly links among the Centro di studi Paolo Grossi, Quaderni fiorentini, the Giornale di diritto del lavoro, and Silvana Sciarra. Drawing on Grossi and Giugni, it outlines a labourlaw approach grounded in history and social reality, opposed to formalism, and attentive to the worksocial citizenship nexus. Constitutional adjudication is portrayed as the space where this outlook rethinks social rights in a changing welfare state.
