Adorno’s theoretical engagement with Kant’s thought entails some important consequences for the concept of the dialectic of utopia. Utopia represents another society with respect to the "administered world"; it alludes to the promise of happiness. Kantian models - the theory of the imagination, the intelligible character and natural beauty - attenuate the negative side of Adorno’s philosophy and lay the emphasis on the image of conciliation.
