Les RIPAM (Rencontres Internationles du Patrimoine Architectural Méditerranéen) sont à la fois des rencontres et un réseau de personnes et d’institutions qui travaillent pour la connaissance et à la conservation du patrimoine architectural et urbain méditerranéen. Ce livre contient les travaux de recherche menés depuis Ripam7: il part ensuite de la définition du paysage côtier et des transformations que le paysage luimême a souffert au fil du temps, dans la région méditerranéenne pour arriver ensuite aux spécificités du patrimoine architectural de ces mêmes régions.

Without full awareness of the practical implications and methodological difficulties, conservation policies have been given significant priority in Italy in the past decade. Considering the extraordinary cultural and ecological value of Italian landscapes, this role assigned to conservation policies is not unwarranted. Yet if conservation policies are to be effective, they must be given a conceptual basis appropriate to the nature of the disequilibria with which they are intended to cope. This paper proposes a conceptual framework for conservation policies in protected territories where both cultural capital and natural capital are subject to conservation - as is the case of most national (and regional) natural parks in Italy. It argues that in protected territories where human landscapes are important part of local capital, conservation policies ought to be conceptualised as development policies. Constraining property rights on local resources - which is the conventional conception of conservation policies - should be set in the context of a more broadly encompassing approach in which the policy domain of conservation policies is the development trajectories of the local systems concerned.

The architectural heritage of the Classical age, present both in Italy and in the other Mediterranean countries, has been subject over the centuries to different phenomena that have caused either its abandonment or the continuation of its use, its transformation or the loss of its integrity. These processes have ensured the survival of these buildings through a continuous integration in urban and cultural activities. The paper presents the results of research aimed at the preservation of this heritage, suggesting strategies for its enhancement that proposes a project for tourist fruition according to theatres, amphiteatres and their cultural and geographical landscape.

Critical thinking still today addresses the issues of the conservation and reuse of our architectural heritage from different viewpoints which are not compared, as if the recognition of historical, communicative and formal values and thinking on how it is used and on the inevitable changes needed to satisfy vital needs belong to totally different spheres of thought and work. More specifically, time is lost within that disciplinary area traditionally defined as history and criticism in advancing hypotheses to summarise the debate that has taken place in recent decades, with no acknowledgement of the radical change that has taken place, caused by new historical and aesthetic perspectives of the relative nature of all value judgements and of the extension of protection to unofficial building, which inevitably highlight political and economical aspects, which in the final analysis are ethical questions.

Istituzioni e attori industriali a livello europeo ritengono che le reti di teleriscaldamento possano svolgere un ruolo chiave nella transizione energetica. Abbiamo testato questa convinzione sul caso italiano, partendo da un censimento di tutti gli impianti esistenti. Abbiamo isolato due tipi di teleriscaldamento, urbano e rurale. Abbiamo scoperto che la dimensione territoriale e relazionale conta rispetto al ruolo ambivalente che il teleriscaldamento svolge nella transizione energetica.

The paper aims to analysis the ordoliberal legacy in European Monetary Policy between 1998 and 2020. What emerges is that although ordoliberal principles were incorporated into the guiding values of the European treaties, they did not play a key role in guiding either the monetary policy strategies fixed in 1998 and 2003 or the ECB interventions implemented between 2011 and 2020 in response to the Great Recession and the sovereign debt crisis. This is basically due to a) the ECB’s acceptance of the New Consensus Macroeconomics (NCM) that recognises the endogenous nature of money and its partial non-neutrality, b) the ECB’s constant tendency to act discretionally in order to reach different goals.

Some marginal reflections on a controversial anniversary. The 150th anniversary of the unification of Italy proved to be an interesting observatory to evaluate the contrasting ways through which the various components of society looked at the foundation moment of the State. The anniversary was quite different from those of 1911 and 1961 in that the current plight of the country was deeply reflected in meanings and implications. Initially prepared in the midst of many uncertainties, because of the modest involvement of official institutions and government circles, the 150th anniversary has turned out to be highly successful, thanks to the role of President of the Republic and to an intense involvement of the regional civic networks. The article focuses on this important step, in particular focussing attention on the relationship between critical analysis of national history and social demand to re-establish the historical foundation of a shared civic and social coexistence.

L’autore utilizza questo evento come stimolo per prendere in esame il concetto dimatrice, in particolare la sua visione della “Matrice del soldato”.
