Protecting an indissoluble bond: the mother-child assisted living centers - The article presents the structure, culture and philosophy of the mother-child assisted living centers met and analyzed during this study in the Lombardy region. The investigation considered the care methods and the organization of these particular centers in which the child is protected by the Authorities along with his mother. The juridical and socio-cultural aspects have been also considered. The results have given a clear vision of the important social and institutional role that the mother-child centers have in society. These researches analyze in details some of the youth residential centres existing in Liguria and in Lombardia. A focused interview has been submitted to the coordinators of these centres. Starting from these results two researchers valued the communities innovation level, using a five steps Likert rate. An integrated comparison is needed to outline these contexts that are far away from the institute model and have many resources to offer educative route. In order to explain the law context in which these services are evolving by the 31st of December, deadline established for the closing down of all the institute, has been collected and analyzed the main laws national, and local, regarding youth protection and the regulation of youth residential centres.
