In the Historians and History section John Harvey presents and comments on the correspondence between the Japanese historian Kan’ichi Asakawa, professor of the Cultural history of Japan at Yale University and Marc Bloch as co-editor of «Annales». The correspondence, consisting of 22 letters written between 1929 and 1935, was on themes that ranged from economic and social history to their proposed programme of studies of European and Asian feudalism.
