In the first part, the paper proposes an analysis of the main approaches and theoretical models concerning employability and soft skills with a specific reference to recent Cedefop and OECD researches. The second part, instead, presents the results of an alternating path, conducted by a research center of a Roman University, which included orientation and self-assessment laboratories, with the involvement of 50 students from high schools, of the skills considered most significant to ensure employability and to direct themselves in the future work.
Keywords: Alternating (school work); soft skills; employability skills; career guidance; self-assessment; sustainability.
