Recent proceedings of neuroscience about phenomena as perception, action and imagery are discussed. In each of them, a form of neural simulation is involved, which lead us both to a revisitation of the classical knowledge about brain functioning, and to interpret the mechanisms underlying some physiological and pathological manifestation of human behaviour. Lastly, the implications of such concepts in the practice of hypnotic psychotherapy are discussed, leading us to build on more solid neurophysiological basis elements traditionally used in ericksonian hypnosis.
