Medicine, psychology, and psychiatry are not only ways of scientific knowledge or professional practice. They are also means of social control practice that participate in behaviour governing. The remedicalization of psychiatry witnesses, after twenty-five years from its start, an anthropological mutation that reduces the human being to the sum of his own behaviours. In order to help this medical-economical civilization of the Subject, postmodern psychiatry had to deconstruct and then reconstruct its own normative panorama to the advantage of "flexible" notions of behavioral disorders, at the expense of the concept of psychological suffering.
