The Italian Women Elected to the Constituent Assembly (by Paola Gaiotti de Biase) - The article deals with the role and the important contribution given by the women who were elected to the Constituent Assembly in Italy, just after the end of World War II. The fact is relevant in itself, because this was the first time in Italian national history in which women participated to political elections and took part in such a high parliamentary assembly which had the task to frame the new republican democratic constitution. These women afforded the assignment with commitment: they played as protagonists beyond the different party’s militancy, they showed intellectual autonomy and a keen look to foresee the evolution of Italian society.
