How to do research on relations between visitors and interpretation devices - The interpretation written aids represent the main device intended today to support the activities of recognition of the speech in heritage and museum exhibitions. This text presents some of the research methods that our team used in little or big museums. Expert analysis, formative evaluation and summative evaluation of the read texts, this article presents a survey over three basic methods. It is obviously impossible to reduce the question of texts in the exhibitions to a debate, which would concern the quantity of texts, their length and their legibility, as we tend to make it usually. Certain texts really help the visitors to appropriate an exhibition whereas the others strengthen their fault and let believe to the public that it is him who does not understand them and not that these devices were not really thought for them. Keywords Labels, interpretation writen aids, formative evaluation, sommative evaluation, museum.
