How can the therapist use the patient’s emotions during the analytic process? These are important questions and the answers can show our implicit ideas about human beings and therapy. The Author suggests some reflections upon current definitions of emotion and emotional competence and upon researches in this field of study. She proposes a different point of view about the meaning of the emotional experience, following the theory of dynamic system and the epistemology of complexity.
