Slow disposal. For an environmental policy of garbage The essay analyzes how consumption is a huge process of transforming resources into waste. In emphasizing how the current society of consumption is unthinkable without a thriving waste-disposal industry, the paper emphasizes the need for a science of waste (garbology) that returns a more accurate picture of the life cycle of the goods and, hence, public policies and private behaviours aimed at sustainability of the planet.
