The article aims to contribute to the analysis of production processes which characterize the North-Eastern Italian and especially the Veneto territory, through a more detailed discussion of those jobs and social figures who are in shaded districts but within the overall production flow, and who create and produce "physically" within a more intangible logic of the contemporary economy. Specific case studies have identified production service operators, assistants, engineers and technicians working in television. These subjects, more than others, seem to represent and live the changes taking place within the work concept itself, therefore offering through their study an analytic space consolidation and summary for a debate around the role of co-knowledge, learning at work, organizational flexibility and the dichotomy between self-employment and employment.
