The article deals with the methodological approach for studying environmental problems from a legal point of view, with specific relation to climate change and sustainable development. It outlines the need for using ethics and, after a brief overview of ethical principles and theories which might be used by legal science, it emphasizes the importance of "respecting others" and suggests that aretaic models should be usefully adopted also by law.
