As the academic staff is smaller and smaller, many young scholars are more and more "pushed" to borderline discipline fields. Urban sociology has many topics today, and most of them are considered from an interdisciplinary point of view. So, we can find studies about migrations, urban governance, semantic aspects of the city, urban regeneration, urban safety, compact city and urban sprawl. In addition, some recent topics are more and more frequent, like consumption in the city, urban mobility and the city of flows. This paper stresses the focus on urban morphology and architecture, as well as their importance in everyday life and development strategies.

Keywords: Urban sociology, interdisciplinarity, architecture.
