After a brief introduction about the concept of Spirit in Jungian works, the Author states that psyche has a religious character, founded on the archaic images of mankind confronted with an unknown world. Jung did not use myths and fairytales to build his theory about psychic structure, but on the contrary, he deduced it from medical and psychological observations. Only at a later time his statements were confirmed by comparative researches on archaic symbols and images very far from psychotherapeutic practice. Accordingly, a Jungian analyst might have an unconscious spiritual attitude, although secular. Some observations follow about all the difficulties of analytical relationship, about setting. Other similar kinds of relationships are compared, which are based about Eros and spirituality. Finally, some considerations about contemporary spirituality follow.
