After an introduction stressing the heuristic value of a comparison among schools and theories of psychotherapy, based on clinical ground, the Author proposes an interpretation of the clinical material from the point of view of the theory of object relations. Finally he points at the therapeutic relationship as the common and more important factor of the cure.
