The author describes the novelties introduced by the recent Spanish labour market reform (law 17.9.2010, n. 35). He underlines the characteristics of the «Spanish flexicurity » model, in which the flexibility elements and the protective measures concern the employment contract. The objective is to eliminate labour market rigidities, including those affecting the employment relationship, through the introduction of security measures directly in the employment relationship, unlike the Danish flexicurity model, more oriented towards the market.
