This brief essay comments on the GC decision of 2011 March, 18 ruling on the issue of crucifix in the classrooms and states that the Court has dramatically improved its approach to the matter. In fact, the author argues, the Court is moving now towards a European approach to freedom of religion issues. Though accepting the idea of a wide margin of appreciation of States, nevertheless the Court shows an attitude to elaborating European standards on the matter.
