The involved psychological processes in intimate relationships seems to be related to the own body satisfaction and to the eating and sexual behaviors, especially in women. Up to now the research investigated on relation between under normal range body mass index (Bmi) and sexual and relational satisfaction. In view of the increased incidence of obesity and overweight we decided to conduct a pilot study to investigate the relationship between excess body weight and intimate relationships. The main hypothesis of this study is to prove, by Sesamo test (sexu- al-relational questionnaire), that the increasing of Bmi rises the sexual and relational dissatisfaction too. Objectives: evaluate the existence of a significant relationship between BMI and Sesame areas and analyze the relation between the various areas investigated by the questionnaire. The sample of 45 women was divided into three groups of 15, according to BMI: normal range, overweight and obesity. The work, completed in 2010, seems to confirm most of previous research and presents original data and interesting ideas for further research.

Keywords: BMI, intimate relationships, sexual behaviors, obesity, overweight, Sesamo test.
