The production of urban space reflects not only the forms of power, but also those of counter-power. The planned city is transformed into an incubator of civic resistance actions that provide the urban landscape of new hybrid spaces. Is that the case of the experience of the Huerto del Rey Moro in Seville which is analyzed in this paper. Here, the creation of urban community gardens responds to a new notion of public space that, combining social and environmental metabolism, shapes a new urban imaginary.
