Women, trade and creativity. Family conflicts in West Africa. Small trade and other women economics activities often cause conflicts and tensions between wives and husbands. In many case the women gain is the only cash incoming of a family. So the role of women become more important and their negotiation power could become stronger. In this article I try to expose some ethnographic cases, to show how some West African women are able to organize themselves in small economics associations as the tontines, or to gather and to reduce the risk.
