The importance of the text is related to the processes of urbanization and the consequent development of urban planning and health as a process to ensure citizens’health and wellbeing. The articles highlight: the importance of the presence of migrants and their emerging health needs, the fight against preventable deaths promoting healthy lifestyles, with actions related to education and information risk; the conflict of subjects in some urban realities between their work and the consequences of this in terms of environment and pollution related diseases. It is considered the importance of social determinants of health and the fight against poverty, which strongly emphasize the urgent need for a holistic approach to health and community, in other words, it is placed a renewed attention to the practices of public health planning and programming.
