Tourist guides work in a local, regional, national and European context. They can playa very important role in the European integration process in increasing the understandingof the different cultural backgrounds and by promoting the European identity. They can alsoincrease the awareness of the tourists regarding a sustainable tourism for the future of Europeand for the government of the flows.In addition, the tourist guides can enhance the acquisition of certain key competencesfor lifelong learning, seizing a professional qualification that is actually able to deal withthe needs of a tourist market with new categories of actors and new economic paradigms.personalized services. However, currently these elements are not structurally part of thetraining of guides.The key innovative element of the project is to generate the foundations of the neededEuropean learning framework and promote this as an integral part of the future vocationaltraining. The integrated European approach will assure a major impact by sharing understandingon the contents and the development of pedagogical tools.
