Among the studies on Giuseppe Dossetti published for the centennial of his birth, the A. examines those by Paolo Pombeni, Alberto Melloni and Enrico Galavotti. The first sees in Dossetti essentially a "Christian reformer", whose political commitment may only be interpreted as a response to a period of crisis. Melloni revisits a project of 1948 to publish a special number of "Critica sociale" prefiguring the idea of a second Catholic party on the left of the Christian Democratic one. In the second volume of Dossetti’s biography, through a careful study of his texts and documents Galavotti offers a well-balanced interpretation of several important aspects of Dossetti’s experience between Fascism and the Costituent Assembly. From a research perspective, this volume is considered the most interesting one.
