There is a general tendency, in advanced capitalist countries, to supplement or even re-place the traditional judicial system with an alternative one, based on the private enforce-ment of rights. Apart from exceptional cases, an alternative to jurisdiction arises by now only through mechanisms with a consensual and non-authoritative basis or, otherwise, through voluntary implementation of decisions taken by technical boards.
