The recent intervention of the public authorities in the regulation of the rental of furnished apartments for tourist use in France has led, especially in the city of Paris, to a significant contraction of the housing supply. The article presents an analysis of the juridical, economic and social components of the phenomenon, starting from the two fundamental laws n. 2014-366 of 24 March 2014, known as "loi ALUR", and no. 2016-1321 of 7 October 2016, highlighting its possible effects on property rights and on the freedom of trade and industry, as well as on the tourist market.
