Non-extractive architecture. Towards an architecture without exploitation of materials, energy, people. Is it possible to imagine an architecture and a model of prosperity that do not depend on the continuous extraction and depletion of resources and energy? The question is at the center of "Non Extractive Architecture", a multidisciplinary project curated by Space Caviar, which elaborates the vision of academics and designers on the relationships between the architecture and urban studies and the capitalist principles of accumulation, exploitation and consumption. The dimension of the landscape is a main focus in this rich platform, and is also investigated through the expert eye of the photographer Armin Linke. "Non Extractive Architecture" includes to date an exposition (in Venice at Palazzo delle Zattere from March 2021 to January 2022) and the publication of a volume, on wich this short text is based on. Its aim is to develop a new paradigm for an architecture that no longer affects the balance of the planet and peoples.

Keywords: non-extractive architecture, depletion, extractive landscapes, metabolism
