During 2020 and 2021 the COVID-19 pandemic has led to a series of stringent (rigorous) social measures to prevent the spread of the infection. In the different realities where we operate (IRCCS Turro psychotherapy filter outpatient clinic and "AMU" outpatient clinic, both in Milan) we noticed an increased demand for psychological help from adolescents and early adulthood following the 2020 lockdown measures. This increase in requests, consequent to the increase in psychological distress, is not accidental: we assume that the lack of environmental regulatory structures has led to an increase in emotional dysregulation in all ages, including adolescence, with significant differences compared to the previous year.

Keywords: COVID-19; emotional dysregulation; adolescence; social isolation; DERS.
