The city has become complexified, contaminated by different cultures and technological innovations. Economic forces influence society, generating new patterns of living. Today, mobility becomes the rule and relocation to large urban centers is made easier. Temporary Inhabitants, embody one of the forces that is reshaping large urban settlements. The European Capital of Culture, attracts this population, it is in this perspective that Matera becomes an important and interesting case study.
